Pavilion Energy pens LNG supply deal with Chevron

Temasek-owned Pavilion Energy has signed a six-year LNG supply deal with Chevron.

Under the agreement, Chevron will supply 0.5 million tonnes of LNG per annum to Singapore over the six-year term starting in 2023.

Each LNG cargo delivered under this agreement will be accompanied by a statement of its greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions measured from wellhead to discharge port, Pavilion’s statement reads.

In addition to supplying LNG to Singapore, Pavilion Energy and its strategic partners are committed to co-develop and implement a GHG quantification and reporting methodology for LNG.

The methodology is being developed based on internationally recognised standards and will cover emissions from wellhead-to-discharge terminal, including LNG transportation.

The agreement with Chevron follows a similar deal signed in November last year with Qatar Petroleum’s trading dedicated trading arm QP Trading.

Under the agreement, QP Trading will deliver up to 1.8 million tons of LNG per annum for 10 years to Singapore.

It was also the first LNG trading deal containing specific environmental criteria and requirements designed to ultimately reduce the carbon footprint of the LNG supplies.
