The first Chinese subsea Xmas tree system has completed sea trials in the Bohai Sea, according to local media reports.
China National Offshore Oil Corporation (CNOOC) carried out the trials which are said to have lasted 32 days and included 98 rigorous tests.
The activities involved the installation, functional testing and recovery of the subsea tree and wellhead, Xinhua Global Service reported Xu Jie, from CNOOC Tianjin branch, as saying.
“More than 1,300 components have been designed, produced, assembled and tested. And finally, we have developed the subsea xmas tree with independent intellectual property rights,” Mi Lijun , project manager at CNOOC, stated.
