Offshore services provider Archer has been awarded a plug and abandonment campaign in 2021 and 2022 by Wintershall Dea.
The deal was won by Archer’s subsidiary Archer Oiltools and the plug and abandonment campaign will be done for Wintershall Dea’s Dutch arm Wintersha Noordzee.
Archer said that the scope awarded to the company was perforate, wash, and cement and formation integrity testing tools and services as well as downhole tools on tubing conveyed and plugs-cutters for 22 wells with an option of another 20 wells.

In related company news, Archer secured a long-term frame agreement with oil firm ConocoPhillips for the provision of wireline services on the Norwegian Continental Shelf.
Earlier this month, Archer signed a sale and purchase agreement to acquire DeepWell based on an enterprise value of $21.3 million on a debt and cash-free basis.
Archer first signed an offer letter with Moreld laying out principle terms to purchase 100 per cent of the shares in DeepWell in late April 2021.
