Korean shipyard Samsung Heavy Industries (SHI) has ordered tank design of two new LNG carriers from the French LNG containment specialist GTT.
GTT will design the tanks of the new vessels ordered by SHI. Each of the two vessels will have a capacity of 174,000 cubic metres.
The LNG carrier tanks, ordered on behalf of a ship-owner which name remains confidential at this stage, will be fitted with the GTT Mark III Flex membrane containment system.
The vessels are scheduled to be delivered between the second and third quarter of 2024, GTT reports.
