Teledyne Optech makes first delivery of CZMIL SuperNova

Teledyne Optech has delivered its next-generation geospatial bathymetric lidar CZMIL SuperNova to Norwegian mapping firm Terratec.

Terratec is the first private company to acquire the CZMIL SuperNova since Teleydne Optech launched it in mid-June.

“Terratec is excited to be the first customer worldwide to take advantage of the new CZMIL SuperNova sensor. We have been following the development in airborne bathymetry for a long time and for us this has been a maturation process,” said Terratec CEO Oivind O. Aase .

“The combination of the SuperNova hardware and CARIS processing solution represents a great step forward for airborne bathymetry. Our pilot clients are very satisfied with the results we have presented thus far.”

CZMIL SuperNova has integrated software from Teledyne CARIS to provide seamless integration for processing and deliverables, Teledyne said.

The solution is said to provide a range of inputs for climate change modeling and is Ideal for inland water environments, base mapping for coastal zones and shorelines.
