Vos Prodect to provide cable hang-offs for Hollandse Kust Zuid

Vos Prodect Innovations (VPI) has secured a contract with Twentsche Kabelfabriek (TKF) to supply cable hang-off systems for the Hollandse Kust Zuid offshore wind farm.

Under the contract, VPI will engineer and deliver the low, 250-milimetre high, version of its cable hang-off system. The delivery will start this year.

According to the company, this version enables easy assembly in confined spaces at the cable deck of the offshore platform. The tailor-made design has been used at the Fryslan offshore wind farm and tested in combination with TKF’s cables.

In May 2020, TKF signed a contract with Vattenfall, the developer of the Hollandse Kust Zuid wind farm, for the supply of 150 kilometres of 66 kV inter-array cables. The delivery and installation of the cables will begin in 2022.

The Hollandse Kust Zuid wind farm is located 22 kilometres off the coast of the Dutch province of Zuid-Holland.

Vattenfall secured the rights to build Hollandse Kust Zuid 1&2 in 2018 and a year later won the tender to build Hollandse Kust Zuid 3 & 4. The two projects were later combined into one to optimise the development process.

The 1.5 GW project is expected to be fully commissioned in 2023.
