Norway’s oil production in June 2021 was 3.6 per cent below predictions made by the Norwegian Petroleum Directorate (NPD).

Preliminary production figures for June 2021 show an average daily production of 1,883,000 barrels of oil, NGL, and condensate.

Total gas sales were 7.9 billion Sm3 (GSm3), which is a decrease of 0.8 GSm3 from the previous month.

NPD added that average daily liquids production in June was: 1 674 000 barrels of oil, 196 000 barrels of NGL and 12 000 barrels of condensate.

Oil production in June is 3.6 per cent lower than the NPD’s forecast, and 0.4 per cent higher than the forecast so far this year.

The main reasons that production in June was below forecast is technical problems and maintenance work on some fields.

The total petroleum production for the first six months in 2021 is about 112.8 million Sm3 oil equivalents (MSm3 o.e.), broken down as follows: about 49.9 MSm3 o.e. of oil, about 7.8 MSm3 o.e. of NGL and condensate and about 55.1 MSm3 o.e. of gas for sale. The total volume is 2.4 MSm3 o.e. lower than in 2020.
