BW Tatiana FSRU is on its way from Singapore to El Salvador to serve the Energía del Pacífico LNG-to-power project.
BW LNG, a unit of the Singapore-based BW Group, and Invenergy, a U.S.-based energy company, reported BW Tatiana ‘s departure. It left Singapore’s Keppel Tuas shipyard on Friday for the Port of Acajutla in El Salvador.
The vessel is an LNG carrier to an FSRU conversion. It was previously Shell’s LNG carrier Gallina .
BW Tatiana will be the first floating storage and regasification unit (FSRU) deployed in El Salvador. It has a capacity of 280 million standard cubic feet per day and a storage capacity of 137,000 cubic metres.

Additionally, Shell will supply LNG to the project under a long-term deal signed with Energía del Pacífico.
The project also includes the construction of a 378-megawatt natural gas-fired power plant and an approximately 44-kilometer electric transmission.
The project is scheduled to be operational by the end of 2021.
