Perma-Pipe has secured a contract from LLOG Exploration Offshore to supply 5 miles (some 8 kilometers) of subsea insulated pipeline for the Taggart project in the Gulf of Mexico.

The contract scope covers overseeing engineering support, pipe coating, and supplying the FLOW-THERM pre-insulated pipe system.

According to Perma-Pipe, FLOW-THERM, formerly Auto-Therm, is a glass syntactic polyurethane (GSPU) that is suitable for temperatures of up to 108 °C.

To remind, LLOG announced the sanctioning of its Taggart discovery in June 2020, as well as the signing of a production handling agreement for development via tieback to the spar.

The company and its affiliates own 100% of the development located on the Mississippi Canyon Block. Initial development plans include the completion and tie-back of two wells with first production expected in the first half of 2022.

At the beginning of the year, LLOG signed an agreement with Eni for subsea infrastructure in the deepwater Gulf of Mexico, under which it intends to use the Williams-owned Devils Tower spar in Mississippi Canyon 773 to optimize the development of the Taggart discovery.
