The Municipality of Ustka today (21 October) signed an agreement for setting up service facilities for two large-scale offshore wind farms at the Port of Ustka.
PGE Polska Grupa Energetyczna, which is now developing its Baltica 2 and Baltica 3 projects in Poland together with Ørsted , has signed a letter of intent with the Municipality to use the Port of Ustka for operations and maintenance (O&M) for the two offshore wind farms.

The letter of intent was signed by the President of PGE Wojciech Dąbrowski at Ustka’s City Hall.
Construction works on the adaptation of the port to accommodate offshore wind service operations are scheduled to commence in 2024 and to be completed in 2026, PGE’s President said during the signing of the letter of intent.
“Thanks to such an investment, new jobs may be created in Ustka, and the city and the region itself will gain new opportunities for development and attracting new investments” , Wojciech Dąbrowski said.

In April, the Polish Energy Regulatory Office (ERO) awarded Contracts for Difference (CfD) to the two offshore wind projects , two months after Ørsted and PGE signed an agreement to form a joint venture for the development, construction and operation of the wind farms.
Baltica 3 is the most advanced of the two projects and, subject to final investment decisions, it would start generating power before Baltica 2.
The Baltica 3 project, which will have an installed capacity of 1,045 MW, is planned to reach financial close in 2023 and to be commissioned in 2027. The Baltica 2 wind farm, with a capacity of 1,498 MW, will be commissioned in 2028, with the closing of financing for this project planned for 2024.
