Purus Marine to buy two LNG carriers

London-based maritime holding company Purus Marine has acquired two 180,000 cubic metres LNG carriers (LNGCs).

Purus Marine owns environmentally-advanced vessels. It supports the maritime industry’s transition to a zero-carbon and sustainable future. Also, its climate target is for its fleet to achieve net-zero emissions within the 2030 decade.

The company says it acquired the vessels in partnership with a ship manager. Therefore, this leading ship manager will provide technical and commercial services for the LNGCs .

The delivery of the LNG carriers will take place in the third quarter of 2024. After that, they will go directly into multi-year time charters with an energy major.
