Havfram, formerly known as Ocean Installer, has won a contract with Saipem to provide SURF support work offshore Egypt.
Havfram will support Saipem with its installation of 160 kilometers of umbilical product in over 1,400-meter water depth on the Zohr North development this year.
The scope includes the provision of a high specification laying and construction vessel (LCV) with associated construction crew, WROVs, underdeck carousel, and VLS services, as well as support to the load-out operation in Norway and various engineering tasks.
Havfram will make use of subsea construction vessel (CSV) Viking Neptun, chartered to support several projects in various regions in 2022.

The Zohr field, the largest gas discovery ever made in Egypt and in the Mediterranean Sea, is located within the Shorouk concession, some 190 kilometers north of Port Said.
Italy’s Eni discovered Zohr back in 2015 and brought it online in 2017.
Petrobel, a company jointly held by Eni and the state corporation EGPC, is operating the project. Other partners are Rosneft, BP, and Mubadala Petroleum.
