Oman LNG has signed a binding term-sheet agreement with Turkish BOTAŞ Petroleum Pipeline Corporation to supply 1 million metric tonnes per annum (mtpa) of LNG, starting in 2025.
According to reports from the Omani state news agency, the agreement was signed on 30 January.
The deal will see Oman LNG supplying BOTAŞ with a total volume of 1 mtpa of LNG for a period of 10 years, starting in 2025.
It is also expected to help emphasize the company’s role in leveraging the country’s reputation as trusted LNG supplies.
Since the beginning of the year, Oman LNG has been on a quest to sign LNG supply deals with a number of international companies.
The newest agreement with the Turkish company comes on the heels of the recently signed ten-year and nine-year contracts with French energy major TotalEnergies and Thailand’s PTT Global LNG Company, respectively. Oman LNG will deliver 0.8 mtpa of LNG per year to each company, starting in 2025.
Earlier this month, the company also inked a term sheet with Shell International Trading Middle East FZE for the offtake of 0.8 mtpa of LNG for ten years starting from 2025, marking Shell’s first long-term offtake from Oman.
At the end of 2022, the Omani supplier also signed long-term agreements with three Japanese companies – Itochu Corporation, JERA and Mitsui & Co – to deliver LNG at a total volume of 2.35 mtpa starting from 2025.
