Baker Hughes’ weekly rig count report shows that the number of offshore rigs in the United States slipped down by two units last week. The total number of rigs operating in the U.S. also went down to 746 from 749 units during the previous week.
After the number of offshore rigs working in the U.S. dropped to 16, Baker Hughes disclosed on Friday, 10 March 2023, that the number of these units fell to 14 last week while offshore rigs were up by 3 units on a year-over-year basis.
Moreover, the firm highlights that the total number of active drilling rigs – including onshore and offshore ones – in the United States decreased by 3 units last week, slipping to 746 , which is higher by 83 rigs than last year’s count of 663 with oil rigs surging up by 63 units, gas rigs going up by 18 units, and miscellaneous rigs being up by 2 unit.
Compared to the figures from the previous week, oil rigs in the U.S. fell down by 2 units to 590 last week while gas rigs slipped down by 1 unit to 153 and miscellaneous rigs remained unchanged at 3 units.
Meanwhile, the total number of active rigs in Canada went down by 23 units last week to 223 rigs compared to the week before with oil rigs down by 19 to 139 units while gas rigs were down 4 units to 84.
Furthermore, Baker Hughes’ report shows that the total number of rigs in Canada increased by 17 units from last year’s count of 206 rigs. While oil rigs went up by 12 units last week compared to the year before, gas rigs increased by 5 units.
