Norwegian offshore vessel owner Havila Shipping has secured a contract extension for one of its platform supply vessels (PSVs) with the Danish subsidiary of the French oil major, TotalEnergies.
Back in December 2021, Havila Shipping landed a new contract for the PSV Havila Fanø with TotalEnergies EP Denmark. The deal was for a firm period of 14 months, with further optional periods.
In an update on Friday, 28 April 2023, Havila confirmed that TotalEnergies EP Danmark had extended the existing contract for the PSV by six months for the period between June and December 2023.
The PSV Havila Fanø has been carrying out operations for TotalEnergies (former Total) for the past few years, thanks to a five-year contract awarded by Maersk Oil back in May 2014 , as Total acquired Maersk Oil in March 2018 .
Therefore, the vessel remained under contract with Maersk Supply Service and continued assisting Total’s operations until the end of that contract, which was scheduled for September 2020, but the French oil major extended the contract for the PSV until 1 June 2021.
The 2010-built PSV Havila Fanø is of a Havyard 832 CD design. It was built at Havyard Leirvik yard and can accommodate up to 25 people.
This extension comes after Havila Shipping got contract extensions for two PSVs in March 2023 and a contract with Equinor in February 2023 for another PSV.
