The NPS Green Lake floating solar project, with a total capacity of 60MW, has been connected to the grid in Thailand.
The project, contracted and constructed by consortium formed by China Energy Engineering (CEEC) on behalf of Thai’s National Power Supply Public Co. (NPS) , features two floating solar arrays of 30MW each.
The floating solar plant is located at 304 Industrial Park in Prachinburi, a province in central Thailand, east of Bangkok.
The plant is expected to generate 95 million kWh of electricity annually and reduce 750,000 tons of CO2 emissions.
Sungrow, a China-based provider of floating solar solutions, supplied a one-stop floating system solution for the first phase, the company informed.
The project is also expected to boost green development in the Prachinburi Industrial Park and promote the local development of renewable energy .
