Brazilian oil and gas player Enauta has concluded a scheduled maintenance shutdown for a floating, production, storage, and offloading (FPSO) vessel, which is currently working on a field offshore Brazil.

Back in May 2023, Enauta started preventive maintenance at the FPSO Petrojarl I . The production at the Atlanta field was expected to resume in mid-June, with the resumption of production of the wells 7-ATL-4HB-RJS (4HB) and 7-ATL-5H-RJS (5H).

On the other hand, the drilling campaign of the wells 7-ATL-7HA-RJS (7HA) and 7-ATL-6H-RJS (6H), which would be connected to FPSO Atlanta in Phase 1 of the Atlanta Definitive System (DS), were still ongoing at the time.

In an update on Thursday, 22 June 2023, Enauta confirmed that the Atlanta field had come back online, after the successful conclusion of the preventive maintenance at the FPSO Petrojarl I. According to the company, the production from the wells will gradually resume.

The scope of the Early Production System of the FPSO Petrojarl I was designed to collect data and confirm the potential of the Atlanta reservoir, enabling the development and optimisation of Phases I and II of the FPSO Atlanta, scheduled for mid-2024.

After confirming the high productivity potential of the wells and reservoir, during this period, Enauta intends to prioritise operational consistency and the extension of the life cycle of the subsea equipment, which was installed on a temporary basis next to the FPSO Petrojarl I.

In addition, the firm needs to improve the pumping system connectors, which led to operational adjustments during the remaining period of activity of the FPSO Petrojarl I. This includes rescheduling the production of well 7-ATL-2HP-RJS (2HP) to the fourth quarter of 2023.

Enauta bought the FPSO OSX-2 for Atlanta’s Full Development System (FDS) last year. This FPSO, known as the FPSO Atlanta , which will replace the FPSO Petrojarl I, is anticipated to be fully operational by 2024. The FDS is expected to go online originally with six wells in mid-2024, reaching ten wells in 2029 .

The Atlanta field is operated by Enauta Energia, a wholly-owned subsidiary of the company, which also has a 100 per cent interest in this asset. Located in block BS-4 in the Santos Basin , at a 1,500-metre water depth, the field has been producing since 2018.
