Singapore’s Seatrium, previously known as Sembcorp Marine, has secured a favored customer contract (FCC) with Greek shipping company TMS Cardiff Gas for the repairs and upgrades of LNG carriers.

Seatrium announced the contract via social media update on February 2, saying it will carry out repairs and upgrades of 17 LNG carriers over three years.

As explained, the partnership will focus on achieving sustainable targets in quality, health, safety, and environment (QHSE), cost efficiency, timely deliveries, as well as ensuring high-quality LNG refits maintenance.

Alvin Gan , Executive Vice President, Repairs and Upgrades, Seatrium Limited, said: “We are thrilled to partner with TMS Cardiff Gas on this project which supports our shared commitment to sustainability. Seatrium is dedicated to delivering high-quality, eco-friendly services with a strong focus on QHSE standards that uphold a healthy and safe working environment for our employees while also reducing our environmental footprint.

“This strategic partnership is a testament to our ongoing efforts to build strong collaborations with major LNG owners, such as TMS Cardiff Gas, to further strengthen our market leadership and achieve our vision for a sustainable future.”

When it comes to recent news related to the Greek company, it is worth noting that TMS Cardiff Gas is believed to be behind the $235 million order for two liquified petroleum gas (LPG)/ammonia carriers at South Korean shipbuilder Samsung Heavy Industries (SHI).
