GasLog’s newbuild LNG carrier duo hits the water in South Korea

South Korean shipbuilder Hanwha Ocean, formerly known as DSME, has launched two LNG carriers built for Greek LNG shipping services provider GasLog.

The launching ceremony for two LNG carriers, which will be named GasLog Italy and Marvel Phoenix, was held at Hanwha Ocean shipyard in the presence of buyer, builder, and class society.

The vessels are scheduled for delivery in August and September 2024, respectively.

The construction of the first vessel, GasLog Italy (Hull No. 2352) began in March 2023 as part of GasLog’s order from late 2021 .

The newbuilds have a capacity of 174,000 cubic meters and feature the latest generation MEGI propulsion.
