Greek ship management company Alpha Gas has expanded its LNG carrier fleet with the delivery of the newbuild Energy Fortitude.
The LNG carrier is the last of three vessels built by South Korean shipyard Hyundai Samho Heavy Industries (HSHI) under Alpha Gas’ most recent LNG project.
The Greek company announced the delivery of Energy Fortitude via social media on March 5, stating that the vessel will immediately embark on its first employment – a long-term charter with a Far East-based charterer.
The vessel was launched at the HSHI yard in July 2023.
Energy Fortitude is propelled with XDF engines, has a cargo carrying capacity of 174,000 cubic meters, and is equipped with the latest technologies including a full reliquefaction system, air lubrication system (ALS), two shaft generators (PTOs), and air resistance shield.
The first LNG carrier propelled with XDF engines, Energy Fidelity , was delivered to Alpha Gas in April 2023. The second unit in this series, Energy Endurance, was added to Alpha Gas’ fleet in January 2024.
With the latest delivery, the Greek company now operates a fleet of eight LNG carriers. The vessels feature different engines, including TFDE, MEGI, and XDF.
