Dutch logistics company Samskip has officially joined the Zero Emissions Ship Technology Association (ZESTA) ranks.
ZESTAs serves as a nexus for industry associations and technology providers to exchange insights, foster partnerships, and address challenges. By harnessing collective expertise and resources, ZESTAs is said to play an important role in propelling innovation and collaboration throughout the maritime and energy supply chain.

This means we strive to remain at the forefront of the latest innovation on absolute-zero emissions shipping technologies by our actions and support of ZESTAs initiatives,” Kari-Pekka Laaksonen , Samskip CEO, said.

“Samskip has demonstrated strong leadership with their Liquid Hydrogen container vessel, currently in build at Cochin Shipyard in India, making an absolute zero emissions supply chain a reality in the North Sea. Samskip is already partnering with ZESTAs members, Chart Industries and Air Liquide to name a few. ZESTAs will leverage these established collaborations as foundational building blocks to our Absolute Zero Emissions Ecosystems.”
As a member of ZESTAs, Samskip gains access to networking opportunities, industry insights, participation in collaborative initiatives such as the ShipZERO program and a voice at the International Maritime Organization (IMO).
In related news, Samskip and Matrans Rotterdam Terminal launched their new terminal and future hub in Rotterdam earlier this week.
The new hub will focus on sustainable solutions to drive multimodal transport, combined with electrification of vehicles, shore power and solar power, to contribute to reduced environmental impact.
