Two vessels of Oslo Stock Exchange-listed semi-submersible accommodation vessel owner and operator Prosafe are set to start new jobs next year.
According to the vessel operator, firm contracts have been secured for Safe Caledonia and Safe Boreas . As announced in July 2024, the former is set to deploy to the Captain field in the UK sector of the North Sea, where it will begin work for Ithaca Energy in June 2025.
The 1982-built moored with thruster assist (TAMS) semi-submersible autonomous surface vehicle (ASV) completed a 20-year life extension in 2012/13 and has beds for up to 454 persons.
Safe Boreas will be mobilized from the North Sea in Q2 2025 to Australia. Prosafe won a conditional letter of intent (CloI) with an undisclosed firm in May 2024 for the unit to provide gangway-connected operations in Western Australian waters. The final contract followed suit in August .
The 2015-built Safe Boreas is a DP3 semi-submersible ASV of GVA 3000E design, able to accommodate 450 persons.
The charterer of Safe Concordia recently decided to exercise the remaining two months of options early and add a further two months, moving the fixed term of the contract up to March 9, 2025 . The value of the four-month extension is approximately $13.14 million.
Safe Concordia maintained a 100% utilization in August when the overall fleet had a 57% rate, slightly up from the level reported in May . As for other vessels, Safe Eurus and Safe Notos had a utilization rate of 99%, with Safe Zephyrus following closely behind with 97%. An additional vessel, Safe Scandinavia, is laid up in Norway.
