UK’s Oceanscan Group, a member of Venterra Group, has opened its new facility in Aberdeen, following what the company says was a standout year of growth across Europe, during which the subsea business doubled in size.
Oceanscan reported that the new 1,200m2 site in Dyce, opened on May 21, more than doubles its operational footprint compared to the previous Bridge of Don base, which served as the company’s home for over 35 years.

The newly refurbished engineering facility features advanced NDT and subsea calibration capabilities. According to the Aberdeen-headquartered player, the facility also brings together complementary capabilities from across the wider Venterra Group network under one roof, including those from INSPIRE Environmental and HPR, strengthening operational collaboration and service delivery.
“This move represents an exciting leap forward for Oceanscan. We’ve built on years of work from our previous Bridge of Don base to create a facility that reflects both the momentum we’re seeing across Scotland, the UK and Europe, and the growing needs of our customers. With more space, more equipment and enhanced capability under one roof, we’re ideally positioned to support offshore campaigns with the same friendly Oceanscan approach our clients know and trust,” said Oceanscan Group CEO Derek Donaldson .

Furthermore, Oceanscan’s Aberdeen workforce has grown to 57 employees, with space to support an additional 30 roles across engineering, operations, sales and finance functions.
