Eni’s floating production storage and offloading (FPSO) vessel Armada Olombendo has arrived at its final destination on Block 15/06 offshore Angola.
The vessel was built by Keppel’s shipyard in Singapore for the Malaysian FPSO operator Bumi Armada, and chartered to the Italian oil company Eni.
Eni named the FPSO , built to operate offshore Angola for the East Hub Development Project, in mid-October this year.
Following reports about the vessel’s arrival to Angola, Offshore Energy Today reached out to Eni seeking confirmation as well as further details about the progress made on this project.
A spokesperson for the Italian oil company confirmed for Offshore Energy Today that the FPSO indeed arrived at its offshore location on Sunday, December 11 after entering Angolan waters on Friday morning, December 9.
The East Hub Development Project encompasses nine subsea wells, five producers and four water injectors, in water depths ranging between 450 and 550 meters. The hydrocarbons which are produced from these wells will be transported via a pipeline system to the FPSO to be treated and stored before export.
According to Eni’s spokesperson, first oil is expected within the first half of 2017.
The FPSO Armada Olombendo is able to handle crude oil production capacity of 80,000 barrels of oil per day (bopd), 120,000 bpd of water injection, 120 million standard cubic feet (MMscf) of gas handling and has a net storage capacity of 1.7 million barrels.
Eni is the operator of the Block 15/06 with a 36.84% stake. The partners in the joint venture are Sonangol Pesquisa e Produção (36.84%) and SSI Fifteen Limited (26.32%).
