Engineering company Monadelphous has been awarded a number of new work packages with a combined value of approximately $55 million, including work on the Shell-operated Prelude FLNG project off Australia.
In an update on Wednesday, the company said it has been awarded a contract for piping modification and fabrication for Technip Oceania Pty Ltd (TechnipFMC) on the hook-up and commissioning phase of Shell Australia’s Prelude Floating Liquefied Natural Gas project in the Browse Basin, approximately 475 kilometers north-northeast of Broome, in Western Australia.
The Prelude FLNG, the world’s largest offshore facility, in late June left the Samsung Heavy Industries shipyard in South Korea in late June heading to its offshore location in Australia.
Once at location, the 488-meter-long-hull facility built by the Technip-Samsung consortium will be moored and connected to the undersea infrastructure and the whole production system commissioned.
In addition to Prelude work, Monadelphous has also been awarded a contract for work on the Oyu Tolgoi Underground Project located in the South Gobi region of Mongolia. Its renewable energy business, Zenviron, has been awarded a contract, in consortium with Vestas – Australian Wind Technology, to provide engineering, procurement, construction and commissioning of the 54 MW Salt Creek Wind Farm for Tilt Renewables.
“The diverse nature of these contract awards underlines the success of the company’s markets and growth strategy,” Monadelphous Managing Director Rob Velletri said.
