Offshore rig builder Sembcorp Marine has secured hull carry over works from Tupi B.V. for the FPSO P-68 Tupi project in Brazil.
Sembcorp Marine said on Monday that the contract was secured through its Brazilian subsidiary, Estaleiro Jurong Aracruz (EJA), and it was worth worth about $145 million.
Tupi B.V. had in 2012 awarded EJA the contract for the modules construction and integration for two FPSO units, P-68 and P-71. The contract was for the construction of a total of 8 modules and module integration works on two FPSOs, which will be deployed on Petrobras-operated Lula field, formerly known as Tupi.
The rig builder added on Monday that the hull carry over works was an addition to the current contract scope of work and that the new work will enable full integration of the FPSO P-68.
To remind, the hull for Petrobras’ FPSO unit P-68, meant for the Santos Basin offshore Brazil, arrived from the Rio Grande shipyard in Rio Grande do Sul to Sembcorp Marine’s Jurong Aracruz shipyard in Brazil last December.
The P-68 floating, production, storage, and offloading unit will have a daily processing capacity of 150,000 barrels of oil and six million cubic meters of gas. It will be able to store up to 1.6 million barrels of oil per day.
After integration, the FPSO unit will be transported to the Santos Basin, off the coast of São Paulo.
