PHOTO: Total’s Egina FPSO sails away

Total’s Egina FPSO has sailed away from South Korea and is now on its way to Nigeria. Total’s Egina FPSO has sailed away from South Korea and is now on its way to Nigeria.

This is according to the company’s EGINA FPSO Deputy Topside Manager within Total E&P Nigeria who shared with us a photo of the FPSO taking off from Geoje in Korea. The vessel built by Samsung Heavy Indusries, reportedly left Korea on Tuesday morning, local time.

Also, Jean-Michel Guy , Egina Project Director, has on social media shared a separate photo of the FPSO being towed by two tugs.

The caption of his photo reads: “Starting the long journey to Nigeria. Very proud of my team.”

Furthermore, the website VesselsValue lists the FPSO as launched with the estimated arrival time to Nigeria set at January 30, 2018.

The FPSO, operated by Total, is 330 meters in length, 61 meters across and 34 meters high, with a storage capacity of 2.3 million barrels of oil.

Once in Nigerian waters, the FPSO will be moored at the Egina oil field, located some 130 kilometers off the coast of Nigeria at water depths of more than 1,500 meters.

Apart from the FPSO, infrastructure on the field will consist of an oil offloading terminal, and subsea production systems that will include 52 kilometers of oil and water injection flowlines, 12 flexible jumpers, 20 kilometers of gas export pipelines, 80 kilometers of umbilicals, and subsea manifolds.
