FPSO operator BW Offshore has contracted liquid handling and pump specialist PG Flow Solutions to supply water booster pumps for the Polvo FPSO life extension project in Brazil.
PG Flow said on Wednesday that the scope of work was the engineering, procurement, assembly of pump skid, and commissioning of two produced water booster pumps in super duplex materials, with 150kW electrical motors, variable frequency drives, and pressurized seal system.
The company will manage the project out of its facility in Sande, Norway. The contract value between the two companies was left undisclosed.

BW Offshore is currently operating the FPSO Polvo on the Petrorio-operated Polvo field, some 100 kilometers offshore Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. FPSO Polvo is capable of handling a daily oil production of 90,000 barrels of oil per day, with a storage capacity of 1.6 million barrels.
To remind, BW Offshore was awarded a one-year contract extension in early January for the lease and operation of the FPSO Polvo with Petrorio.
The FPSO’s previous two-year firm contract, awarded in December 2015, expires in the third quarter 2018. Under the extension, the firm period was extended from the third quarter of 2018 to third quarter of 2019, with options until 3Q 2022.
