Corinth Pipeworks Pipe Industry has signed an agreement with TechnipFMC for the manufacture and supply of the steel pipes for Energean’s Karish gas field development offshore Israel.
Cenergy, Corinth Pipeworks’ parent company, said last Thursday that the agreement covers 90 kilometers of 24″ and 30″ LSAW pipe material for the offshore gas pipeline.
The pipeline connects the subsea manifold at a maximum water depth of 1,750 meters to the receiving terminal onshore.
The company added that the pipe manufacturing and coating would begin at the Corinth Pipeworks facility in Greece later in 2018.
“This award for a deepwater pipeline project is another milestone in the development of Corinth Pipeworks’ growing presence in the upstream offshore energy business segment,” the company said.
To remind, Energean Oil & Gas, operator of the Karish field, awarded an iEPCI contract for the full field development of the field to TechnipFMC back in late March .
The execution of this contract covers the design, procurement, construction and installation of the complete subsea system, a floating production storage and offloading unit (FPSO) designed to allow the subsequent tie-back of the Tanin field, the pipeline system, and the onshore pipeline and valve station at the receiving station.
TechnipFMC was previously awarded a $1.36 billion contract for the construction of an FPSO. The oilfield services provider then chose Sembcorp Marine to undertake the engineering, procurement and construction of hull and living quarters for the FPSO.
The company was also the contractor for Concept and Front End Engineering Design (FEED) for the Karish and Tanin development.
