Exports from the Peruvian liquefied natural gas (LNG) facility in Pampa Melchorita jumped during the month of May 2020.
According to the data provided by the state-owned Perupetro, five vessels departer the facility during the month under review, with volumes totaling 785,773 cubic meters.
This represents a 26.4 per cent increase compared to the volumes exported in May 2019 when the facility exported a total of 621,646 cubic meters of LNG.
Compared to the previous month when the facility shipped a total of four cargoes amounting to 608,331 cubic meters, this is a 29.2 per cent jump.
Out of the five cargoes shipped in May, three landed in China with one cargo landing in South Korea, split between two import facilities and one cargo landing in Mexico.
With the five May cargoes, the facility has shipped a total of 576 cargoes since it started operations in June 2010.
The 4.45 million tons per year gas liquefaction plant is located 170 kilometers south of Lima and receives gas via a 408-kilometer pipeline built across the Andes.
