Liquefied natural gas (LNG) exports from the United States jumped during the past week.
A total of 14 vessel departed U.S. LNG export facilities during the week between September 24 and September 30, 2020.
The tankers had a combined LNG-carrying capacity of 50 Bcf, data from the Energy Information Administration (EIA) shows.
This compares to a total of 10 cargoes with a combined LNG-carrying capacity of 37 Bcf , exported in the previous week.
Out of the fourteen LNG cargoes exported during the week under review, Cheniere’s Sabine Pass plant exported eight while the Freeport LNG plant added three.
Corpus Christi facility shipped two cargoes with the Elba Island facility shipping a single cargo during the period.
Cove Point LNG terminal is undergoing scheduled annual maintenance. The plant exported its last cargo prior to shutting down on September 20.
Natural gas deliveries to U.S. liquefied natural gas export facilities averaged 6.5 Bcf/d, or 0.45 Bcf/d higher than last week.
