TMC Compressors picked for Maran Gas LNG newbuilds

TMC Compressors (TMC) has been chosen to supply the marine compressed air system for Maran Gas Maritime LNG tanker newbuilds.

The vessels are being constructed at the Daewoo Shipbuilding and Marine Engineering (DSME) yard in South Korea.

TMC’s scope of work is to deliver three service and control air compressors to each of the eight LNG carriers. Each tanker will have a cargo capacity of 174,000 cubic metres of LNG.

Commenting on the order, TMC’s director of sales and business development Hans Petter Tanum said that the compressors have been designed so that the vessel crew can maintain the compressors themselves without the need for an external service technician.

“This approach reflects the shipping industry’s requirement to reduce both operating expenditure and its environmental footprint,” Hans Petter Tanum said.
