Spain’s imports of liquefied natural gas (LNG) slipped during the month of October 2020, Enagás said in its monthly report.
The country’s LNG terminal operator noted in its report that LNG imports stood at 13.26 TWh in October 2020. This is 31.5 per cent below the 19.35 TWh imported in October 2019.
For the year so far, LNG imports have hit 197.79 TWh, Enagás said.
The United States remains the top supplier of chilled fuel to Spain. A total of 4.49 TWh of U.S.-produced LNG landed at Spain’s terminals during the month of October.
Russia delivered 3.07 TWh of LNG to Spain, followed by Nigeria with 2.68 TWh.
The country imported 0.88 TWh of LNG from Qatar, 0.86 TWh from Equatorial Guinea, 0.77 TWh from Trinidad and Tobago and 0.49 TWh from Algeria.
Spain’s LNG facilities received a total of 16 LNG cargoes in October 2020, down from 20 LNG cargoes in October 2019.
Huelva plant received six cargoes during the month, followed by Cartagena and Bilbao plants receiving three cargoes each. Mugardos terminal received two cargoes while the Barcelona and Sagunto plants received a single cargo each.
Enagás said that during the month of October, the Barcelona facility reloaded 0.34 TWh of LNG.
The operator also reported that a total of 1158 LNG truck loadings were completed at Spanish LNG facilities. This compares to 1052 truck loading operations completed in October 2019.
