U.S. offshore rig count remains flat

The number of offshore rigs in the U.S. remained unchanged over this week, according to a weekly rig count by Baker Hughes.

The number of offshore rigs in the U.S. remained unchanged over this week, according to a weekly rig count by Baker Hughes.

This week’s rig count was published on Wednesday, 30 December, unlike the usual Friday schedule due to the New Year’s holidays.

Baker Hughes Rig Count: U.S. +3 to 351 rigs

U.S. Rig Count is up 3 from last week to 351 with oil rigs up 3 to 267, gas rigs unchanged at 83, and miscellaneous rigs unchanged at 1.

U.S. Rig Count is down 445 rigs from last year’s count of 796, with oil rigs down 403, gas rigs down 40 and miscellaneous rigs down 2.

The U.S. Offshore Rig Count is unchanged at 17, down 5 year-over-year.

Baker Hughes Rig Count: Canada -23 rigs to 59 rigs.

Canada Rig Count is down 23 from last week to 59, with oil rigs down 13 to 18, gas rigs down 10 to 41.

Canada Rig Count is down 26 rigs from last year’s count of 85, with oil rigs down 9, gas rigs down 17.
