The U.S. Energy Information Administration reported a drop in weekly LNG exports, while Henry Hub price jumped.
In the latest Short-Term Energy Outlook for this week, EIA reports the Henry Hub spot price rose from $2.91 per million British thermal units (MMBtu) last Wednesday to a weekly high of $3.68/MMBtu this Wednesday. This is a result of cold temperatures across the country.
EIA noted that LNG exports decrease compared to last week. Between 4 February and 10 February, 19 vessels departed the United States. Seven are from Sabine Pass, four each are from Corpus Christi and Freeport, three are from Cameron, and one is from Cove Point. Their combined LNG-carrying capacity is 69 billion cubic feet.
This compares to 22 tankers with a combined LNG-carrying capacity of 80 billion cubic feet (Bcf) that departed in the previous week .
Natural gas deliveries to U.S. LNG export facilities averaged 11.0 Bcf/d, or 0.13 Bcf/d higher than last week.
