According to data from the Energy Information Administration (EIA), liquefied natural gas exports from the U.S. increased the second week in a row, boosting Henry Hub prices.
For the period between 24 February and 3 March, in its latest Short-Term Energy Outlook, EIA reports that U.S. LNG exports increase the second week in a row.
Seventeen LNG vessels with a combined LNG-carrying capacity of 62 billion cubic feet departed the United States. Five were from Sabine Pass, three from Cameron, three from Corpus Christi, three from Freeport, two were from Cove Point, and one from Elba Island.
Natural gas spot prices were relatively flat at most locations this report week with most hubs rising less than $0.10 per million British thermal units (MMBtu) week over week. The Henry Hub spot price rose 9¢ from $2.75/MMBtu last Wednesday to $2.84/MMBtu this week after reaching a weekly low of $2.65/MMBtu on Friday.
Natural gas deliveries to U.S. LNG export facilities also reached their highest levels since the week of 10 February, averaging 9.8 Bcf/d, which was 2.3 Bcf/d higher than last week.
