U.S. weekly LNG exports slip

Exports of liquefied natural gas (LNG) from the United States slipped during the week between 1 April and 7 April 2021.

According to the data provided by the Energy Information Administration , a total of 21 cargoes departed the U.S. export facilities, during the week under review.

The 21 tankers had a combined LNG.-carrying capacity of 76 billion cubic feet (Bcf). This compares to LNG exports of 87 Bcf onboard 24 tankers departing in the previous week .

Out of the 21 vessels, eight tankers departed Cheniere’s Sabine Pass facility. Cameron LNG and Sempra LNG plants added four cargoes each.

Freeport LNG plant shipped three cargoes with Cove Point and Elba Island plants adding a single cargo each.

Natural gas deliveries to U.S. liquefied natural gas (LNG) export facilities averaged 11.7 Bcf per day, or 0.09 Bcf/d higher than last week and 30 per cent higher than the same period last year.

Henry Hub price drops

The Henry Hub spot price dropped from $2.49 per million British thermal units (mBtu) last week to $2.38 per mBtu in the week under review.

EIA noted that prices in most markets fell as moderating temperatures lead to lower demand across most sectors.
