EIA: US LNG exports go up this week

LNG exports from the U.S. increased this week, with Henry Hub prices also rising, according to weekly data from the Energy Information Administration (EIA).

According to the latest Short-Term Energy Outlook, EIA reports that, compared to last week, U.S. LNG exports have increased for the period from 26 May to 2 June.

Twenty-one LNG vessels with a combined LNG-carrying capacity of 76 billion cubic feet departed the USA. Seven departed from Sabine Pass, four each from Freeport and Cameron, three from Corpus Christi, two from Cove Point, and one from Elba Island.

The Henry Hub prices rose due to anticipation of higher demand as a result of above-normal temperatures across most of the Lower 48 states. The Henry Hub spot price rose 17¢ from $2.88/MMBtu last Wednesday to $3.05/MMBtu this Wednesday.

Natural gas deliveries to U.S. LNG export facilities averaged 10.9 Bcf/d, or 0.42 Bcf/d higher than last week.
