Liquified natural gas (LNG) exports from the U.S. decreased this week, while Henry Hub prices went up, the Energy Information Administration (EIA) reported this week.
As per the latest Short-Term Energy Outlook from EIA, U.S. LNG exports decreased for the period between 27 January and 2 February 2022 when compared to the week before. Specifically, they are down by three.
In total, 22 LNG vessels with a combined LNG-carrying capacity of 81 billion cubic feet departed the United States. Of those, 9 were from Sabine Pass, four each from Corpus Christi and Freeport, three from Cameron, and two from Cove Point.
In January, 103 tankers departed the U.S., compared with 102 in December 2021. Vessel departures recorded for these two months were the highest to date.
On the other hand, the Henry Hub spot price rose from $4.37 per million British thermal units (MMBtu) last Wednesday to $6.44/MMBtu this week.
Natural gas deliveries to LNG export facilities averaged 12.1 Bcf/d, or 0.6 Bcf/d lower than last week.
