Cheniere declares substantial completion of Train 6 at Sabine Pass

U.S. LNG exporter Cheniere says Train 6 of its Sabine Pass liquefaction project in Louisiana has achieved substantial completion on 4 February.

Commissioning is now complete. Cheniere’s engineering and construction partner Bechtel has turned over custody and control of Train 6 to Cheniere Partners.

Therefore, Cheniere Partners and Bechtel have now declared substantial completion on all six liquefaction trains at the project. This is ahead of each train’s completion date and within project budgets.

Going forward, the financial results of LNG sales from Train 6 will be reflected in the statement of operations of Cheniere Partners.

“We are proud to have the six-train vision of Sabine Pass completed safely, ahead of schedule and on budget,” said Jack Fusco , CEO of Cheniere Partners.

The company has a total of nine trains across both the Sabine Pass (SPL) and Corpus Christi projects. Thus, its liquefaction platform is the second largest in the world.

Finally, SPL’s total production capacity will be approximately 30 million tonnes per annum of LNG.
