The U.S. Energy Information Administration (EIA) report says that weekly LNG exports are up this week, while the Henry Hub spot price went down.
According to the latest Short-Term Energy Outlook from EIA, U.S. LNG exports increased for the period between 3 February and 9 February 2022 compared to the week before. Specifically, they are up by five vessels.
27 LNG carriers departed the United States in the reporting period. Nine were from Sabine Pass, five each were from Cameron and Corpus Christi, four were from Freeport, and two each were from Cove Point and Elba Island.
The vessels held a combined LNG-carrying capacity of 101 billion cubic feet.
The Henry Hub spot price fell from $6.44 per million British thermal units (MMBtu) last Wednesday to $4.06/MMBtu this week.
Natural gas deliveries to LNG export facilities averaged 12.4 Bcf/d, or 0.3 Bcf/d higher than last week.
In conclusion, total consumption of natural gas fell as a result of decreased consumption in most sectors.
